Nebraska Memorial Forest Initiative

Fall 2025
Nebraska Memoria Forest (NMF) honors fallen military heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty from the Spanish American War to today. There will be 7500 trees planted across the state of Nebraska, county by county. Currently more than 1700 of the trees have been planted. The trees will be named for each fallen hero so families can visit their tree.

Replant Omaha Initiative

Spring 2025
The summer of 2024 brought two strong storms to Omaha and its suburbs and thousands of trees were lost in the process. Tornados and straight-line winds brought unprecedented damage. In an effort to replant, we are excited to introduce a new initiative that will form the backbone of Omaha’s canopy for the next 100 years! See our Replant Omaha Initiative page for more information.
